Job summary EEAST is seeking an Infrastructure Specialist responsible for managing the overall technical design for the Trust's Cloud strategy.
The post holder will need the ability to present and demonstrate the Trust's Cloud Infrastructure and Strategy to the Trust stakeholders.The post holder will manage all the Trust's Cloud technology requirements and agree standards for the approval of the functional specification documents to ensure consistency and compatibility with the strategic vision.The Specialist will be responsible for ensuring value for money and future affordability (including whole life costs) of Cloud hosted technical solutions.Ensuring continued support and mentoring is given to the Digital team to enable the successful delivery and handover of Cloud hosted solutions will be a key focus as will ensuring that technical documentation and diagrams are regularly updated to guarantee the latest designs and blueprint are available to all.They will ensure compliance with national guidelines and statutory regulations that are applicable to the Trust.
Main duties of the job The continuing support, security, and resilience of the Trust's Cloud hosted solutions, including business critical applications, ensuring industry best practices are observed, implemented and adhered to.Ensuring Cloud applications and business solutions are up to date and patched in line with the Trust critical patching polices.
Ensuring optimum performance is always maintained.Ensuring Cloud based systems, applications and data is backed up in line with the Trust's backup policy, backup restores are tested on a regular basis.Ensuring Trust hosted solutions are fully resilient and remain hosted in UK only datacentres About us You'll have the opportunity to work in one of the most diverse regions in the country, with the vibrant capital city just a stone's throw away and the invigorating North Sea coast to the east.

Job description Job responsibilities This role is central to the delivery and continuity of Information Technology services across the Trust.The Cloud Technologies Specialist will play a key role in the development of the Trusts Cloud strategy, and lead in the design for the programme of Cloud infrastructure enabling projects.The Cloud Technologies Specialist needs to fully understand the technology vision, objectives, deliverables, and organisational goals.
This role is key to defining the strategy of the Trusts Cloud technologies with current and future industry standards.Work with the Infrastructure Service Delivery Manager and the Head of Live Services to produce capital plans for each year which reflect the future Cloud hosted designs.Work with third parties to ensure vulnerabilities are patched before they can be exploited.Work with and mentor Infrastructure Technicians for Cloud hosted related work streams projects and deliverables.Work with the Digital team in their preparation of technical specifications for all departments in the Trust.Design future Trust Cloud hosted solutions, infrastructure designs, selection, and procurement of Cloud services providers.Assist members of the Digital Team and the wider Trust in the completion of business cases that have a Cloud technologies technical impact.
Provide input in the preparation of benefits realisation and financial information, including capital requirements and ongoing revenue requirements.Work with the Digital Team to ensure that downtime due to Cloud hosted, upgrades and changes is minimised, and service availability is maximised; identify any changes required to support this objective, plan, and implement any necessary changes.Liaise with third party partners to produce a programme of Cloud hosted technical research and pilot projects for emerging Cloud solutions and technologies.
Research and agree the programme of strategic initiatives with the Infrastructure Service Delivery Manager.
Work with the Digital Team to involve the wider team with these initiatives.Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both within the Trust and outside of the Trust.Present Cloud hosted technical and complex areas to stakeholders who do not have technical backgrounds, ensuring they understand the background and impact of changes and planned work.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Degree, other tertiary qualification, or evidence of relevant on-job qualification/equivalent hands-on experience (5 years).
Formal Microsoft Azure certification to administrator level.
Formal Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems certification.
ITIL3 Foundation.
Knowledge and Experience Essential Basic knowledge of Azure routing and firewalls.
Good understanding of Azure licensing and costing models.
Evidence of on-going continuous professional development.
3 years' hands on experience working with Cloud based solutions.
Experience of mentoring staff.
Demonstrable experience of delivery to time, and on budget, major IT projects.
Desirable Previous NHS\Ambulance knowledge.
Practical and Intellectual Skills Essential Ability to think strategically and work methodically towards achieving IT solutions.
Ability to maintain and build good professional relationships with colleagues from a variety of care backgrounds.
