Purpose of Job To act as the Lead for Industrialisation in providing effective Industrial support to a particular project.
This will encompass:- Preparation of the manufacturing organisation and resources (OBS, WBS, schedule of activities, training, etc).
Ensure Manufacturability and DFx.
Design the workflow.
Achieve Cost targets (NRC and RC).
Definition of the manufacturing processes incl.
APQP adherence & MRLs.
Implementation of the Test strategy.
Oversee Make Team Buy, Critical items and LLI's.
Job Context and Content Responsible for leading, planning and implementing major Industrial projects.
Responsible for providing training to project personnel on process/project matters and to ensure that his/her own skills are consistent with the demands of the job.
Involved in all aspects of the assessment/approval of pre/post freeze design activities and manufacturing processes, both internal and external to ensure the efficient manufacture of conforming product in support of project deliverables.
Support of new Industrial projects, the job holder is responsible for the technical quality of the team particularly with regard to product manufacturability and test, and manufacturing cost.
Responsible for the timely scheduling of engineering, facilities, tooling and related activities within the project, thus ensuring project milestones are achieved.
Knowledge and Experience Qualifications: The jobholder will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relative engineering / manufacturing engineering discipline.
Experience: Typically the jobholder's experience will have been in a Senior Industrial Operations/Manufacturing Engineering role or in another Senior Engineering or Programmes role.
Knowledge and Experience: The jobholder shall have knowledge of the following:- Manufacturing Programme Management / Work-package Management Implementation of Test Strategies Product life cycle phases i.e., feasibility, development/design, manufacture and customer support Estimating techniques including bid preparation Industrial engineering including process / material flow and factory layout Awareness of Machine shop processes, mechanical / electrical assembly processes Financial Awareness Earned value management Process controls Design for Manufacture, Assembly and Test Problem Solving techniques APQP/NPI #LI-CA1 In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
