Job description Indirect Tax Manager Base Location: Milton Keynes OR London plus network of 20 offices nationally: Why Join KPMG as an Indirect Tax Manager based in the Milton Keynes KPMG has one of the leading Indirect Tax practices in the UK.
We work as a national practice providing advice and support in all aspects of Indirect Tax (VAT) to a broad range of business sectors including large multi-nationals, household name retailers and public sector organisations.
KPMG's Indirect Tax practice currently services a broad range of clients, providing both VAT and Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) services.
As VAT and IPT are real time, transactional taxes we work closely with our clients, building up a deep knowledge of their activities and how their businesses operate.
The team undertakes both compliance and advisory services.
Over the last 12 months the team has been successful in winning several new, exciting projects.
In the market, we continue to see strong demand from clients looking for indirect tax support.
To deliver the projects already won and the additional projects we expect to win, we are looking to recruit motivated individuals who have existing Indirect Tax experience, are interested in the financial services sector, would like the opportunity to assume responsibility for client delivery and are keen to build their knowledge of businesses operationally.
What will you be doing?
Working as a key member of the team to provide Indirect Tax advice to a broad range of clients helping them to achieve their commercial objectives.
Providing indirect tax and advisory compliance services to a range of clientsSupporting senior members of the team in the delivery of client projectsDay-to-day, direct contact with clients and developing long lasting, positive relationships.Supporting senior members of the team in business development initiatives.Working with and developing Tax Assistants within the team.Helping to identify opportunities to implement and develop technology solutions to deliver compliance and advisory projects.Working with and contributing to the diverse and friendly team.
What will you need to do it?
ACA, CTA or Qualified Solicitor and/or relevant experience (at least 5 years) with Indirect TaxesExisting VAT or Customs knowledge or skills that can be transferred easily.A commitment to develop existing Indirect Tax knowledge / skills.An eagerness to develop wider skills e.g., communication, networking, business development.The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.An ability to manage and prioritise work.Attention to detail.An ability to establish and maintain good relationships with colleagues internally and with clients.Working with clients to identify issues and opportunities to enhance their Indirect Tax processes.Sustaining a high level of drive, enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at workEagerness to learn, deliver quality to build the reputation of KPMG through the quality of work, knowledge and experience.
