Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within 20 bedded acute adult inpatient ward for the position of housekeeper.
This new role will support the clinical team to ensure the smooth running of the ward.
Your primary responsibility will be for the co-ordination of all patient and staff facilities with the ward environment, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
Within this role you will also be responsible for - To establish a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere and environment for patients, visitors and staff.
To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards; ensuring bed areas are cleaned following the discharge of a patient, soap dispensers etc are replenished, hygiene standards of the kitchen area and maintain the general tidiness of the ward environment.
To undertake regular monitoring of current and outstanding estates issues Ensure linen supplies are maintained and liaise with laundry services Ensure that patients are provided with appropriate meals and beverages at regular intervals Serve and assist with the serving of meals Serve drinks to patients Main duties of the job The post holder will work as an integral part of the Ward team, and will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities/services in the in-patient area and for ensuring a safe, clean and comfortable main element of the role is to support ward managers in the running of the unit, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs, as determined by the Ward Manager/Deputy Ward Manager or Nurse in post holder will be required to work closely with contractors and Estates & Facilitiesdepartments, and will monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies in liaison with the Ward Managers.
Where this is not possible or timely this will be escalated and formal records kept.

Person Specification Education/ Qualifications Essential Educated to GCSE standard (grades A-C) or equivalent Working towards NVQ Level 3 in related subject ( to be achieved within 1 year of appointment) or equivalent level of experience Knowledge Essential Understand the demands of the ward environment.
