This post will ideally suit an established Band 7 speech and language therapist looking for a new challenge or a band 6 therapist wishing to develop their skills and progress to a band 7 role pending meeting competencies.Working as part of the team you will provide a service for children aged 0-18 presenting with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties within mainstream schools, community clinics and early years settings.
You will be leading the team and working alongside existing post holders to develop the mainstream schools and early intervention social communication service, share management responsibilities and the caseload.
Main duties of the job The Speech and Language Therapy Service in Redbridge operates within a multi-disciplinary team for children with additional needs and disabilities.

Candidates will need to demonstrate the following requirements: A recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent and relevant professional registration.Providing an advanced standard of assessment, clinical diagnosis, treatment and management of communication difficulties in children.
Devising and delivering appropriate, highly specialist intervention/care plans of speech and language therapy for clients.Experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist in Mainstream Schools and with pre-school children with social communication difficulties and Autism.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as an effective multi-disciplinary team member.Experience in supervising other team members.
Working for our organisation Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.
All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period.

High-Cost Area Supplement This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.

Independently manage own and others workload in the day-to-day allocation of work.
Work closely with clients carers, families and professionals to raise awareness, knowledge and skills related to the range of strategies that improve speech, language and communication outcomes across settings.Making highly specialist clinical decisions following assessment of complex cases.Planning and implementing specialist packages of support and intervention.Providing clinical support/supervision for SLT's working in clinic and mainstream school settings.Working in the context of a multi- disciplinary team in health, social care and education services in Redbridge.Provide specialist knowledge, advice, training and teaching to parents, carers, students and speech and language therapy team Use of AIApplications for this role should be written by the applicant.

Qualifications Essential criteria Demonstrates professional knowledge as evidenced by 1st degree level or qualification or equivalent HCPC registration Membership of RCSLT Membership of relevant specialist interest group Experience Essential criteria Experience working as a Speech and Language therapist with pre-school children with speech language and communication difficulties and especially those with Autism.
