Job summary Do you want to help develop and provide services in a new Community Diagnostic Centre?
We have opportunities to work at a site in Scarborough.
The successful candidate will rotate between the CDC and at Scarborough are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 7 Respiratory Physiologist.
The candidate should have a BSc Hons in Clinical Physiology or equivalent, ARTP accreditation and experience performing a wide variety of pulmonary function investigations.
Experience in CPET in also desirable.
The department is committed to continuing professional development, with many staff undertaking post graduate and professional qualifications.
This role would be ideal for a Physiologist looking to take the next step in their career, or who is already established at this level but would like a new challenge and to work in the community.
We require the successful candidate to be confident in working independently and autonomously.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be expected to be able to perform basic and advanced pulmonary function tests unsupervised, these should include: SpirometryDynamic lung volumes, maximal flow volume loopsStatic lung volume measurementAssessment of bronchodilator responseArterial blood gas punctures, and analysisHyper-reactivity (using mannitol)Sleep StudiesCPAP set up At this level you will also be expected to participate in aspects of service management, including quality assurance, service planning, workforce planning, appraisal, and student supervision.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent formal specialist training plus knowledge of specialist procedures acquired through specialist courses or training/experience to advanced level.
Desirable ARTP Part I and II or equivalent Experience & Further Training Essential Appropriate post qualification experience and familiarity with the range of basic and advanced Respiratory investigations.
Training in specialist skills and knowledge within the relevant field.
Desirable Managerial experience.
Supervisory experience.
