The shift pattern for this position are worked over 5 days Monday to Friday.
We are currently seeking to recruit a fulltime Band 3 Health Care Support Workers to join our Outpatient Service.
Outpatients is a dynamic, diverse environment and plays an important role in the delivery of patient care across the South Sector.
You will work within the nursing and multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of care is delivered to patients within a wide range of specialties including ENT, Dermatology, Gynaecology, Medical, Oncology, Surgical, Renal and Urology.
Duties include: You will competently perform the necessary technical, and physical aspects of care and treatment for patients within both consultant and nurse led clinics.
Assisting with procedures, undertaking observations, clinic management using trakcare, chaperoning, housekeeping, ordering, undertaking venepuncture and working within the ambulance waiting area.
Requirements: Experience working within a caring environment/role and the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team is essential.
You should be motivated and have excellent organisational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as basic computer skills are essential.
Experience working within an Outpatient environment is desirable as well as the ability to undertake venepuncture but training will be given.
You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to supporting the ongoing development of the service and work to deliver safe and effective care.
Evidence of ongoing learning relevant to health care is desirable.
There is a requirement to work flexibly to support the service and, if necessary, you will be expected to engage in multi-site working within the South Sector in order to ensure the provision of the service.
Shift patterns will vary over 5 days (Monday to Friday).

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.
This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.
This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.
However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
