VANRATH are delighted to be assisting a Major Organics/Waste Company with the Recruitment of a Health & Safety Officer to join their growing and dynamic team.

This role can be based in Dunmurry (Belfast) or Keady (Armagh) Hours - Mon-Fri - Permanent role Salary - Fully Negotiable + Market Leading Benefits + Perks There will be opportunities for progression - Numerous success stories of individuals progressing in business recently.
Main responsibilities: Development and review of Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments and Safe Working Procedures for work activities across all sites and continually monitor changes in working procedures and update accordingly.
Investigation and reporting of H&S and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses, determine root cause and implement preventative corrective action alongside site teams.
Conduct regular audits, inspections, and site visits to monitor compliance and good industry practice.
Travel between sites regularly and as and when necessary.
Build strong working relationships at all levels to advise on and promote a culture of engagement and continuous improvement in regard to health and safety.
Development and delivery of internal training including toolbox talks, safety alerts etc.
and deliver scheduled in-house training on health, safety and environmental topics to ensure employees are provided with sufficient information, instruction and training to carry out their activities safely.
Assist with the development and implementation of the Company's Health, Safety & Environmental objectives, targets & initiatives.
Assisting with HS&E audits, inspections and visits from HSENI, Public Authority Bodies, external auditors, customers etc.
Health & Safety induction training for new employees.
Assist with the delivery of all Health & Safety in relation to future projects.
Essential Criteria: Minimum 2 years of experience in a Health and Safety role.
Skills / ability NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety Must be self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
Be able to work on their own initiative.
Have excellent planning, time management and organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task.
