Job summary We currently have Healthcare Support Worker positions on our medical wards at the University Hospital of WalesAs a Healthcare Support Worker in our areas you will play a crucial part in our nursing teams, we are committed to providing the skills and training that you need to help you in delivering high quality care to our patients.
You will be able to work collaboratively alongside the Multi Disciplinary Team.You should have good communication and interpersonal skills along with an ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.To work in our team, you'll need to demonstrate the core values as set out by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board;Kind and caring; Respectful; Trust and integrity; Personal responsibility Main duties of the job As well as a dynamic, friendly working environment we offer a full induction programme and an individual personal development plan to guide your development within the role.
We have an educational pathway to support ongoing learning development to enable all staff to maximise their potential in providing safe and effective care, supporting staff in academic learning.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Good standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths Grade A-C or equivalent Desirable NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) Experience Essential Experience in caring for people Desirable Previous experience in hospital or health care environment Clerical experience Skills Essential Numerate.
Good standard of written and spoken English essential Good interpersonal and people skills Able to return information and carry out instructions accurately Able to maintain confidentiality Desirable Know how to/be able to deal with people in challenging circumstances Personal Qualities Essential Able to communicate with people at all levels Adaptable, friendly, polite, courteous and caring personality Able to work in a team and demanding/ pressurised environment Demonstrates professionally motivated attitude Other Essential Flexible attitude to work To work in any area of the UHB as required Ability to travel within geographical area.
