Job summary We are looking for a skilled and motivated Health Care Assistant to join our small surgery team looking after patients in the Doncaster area.
Our practice is currently expanding and merging with another Doncaster based practice.
We are also setting up a new Primary Care Network in Doncaster.
Main duties of the job The position will involve standard GP health care assistant duties including blood tests, ECGs, dressings, BP checks, some vaccinations, some chronic disease reviews (training required), stocking rooms.
You will be part of a small nursing team of two practice nurses, one other health care assistant and a nursing associate.
About us We are a small, friendly and welcoming practice, specialising in training at all levels (trainee GPs, nurses, etc.)
with 9,000 patients across the two practices, and operating from 3 sites in Cantley, Bawtry and Blyth.

There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:Key Responsibilities: 1.
Clinical Duties: Carry out clinical tasks including phlebotomy, BP checks, new patient health checks, ECGs, dressings, wound care (levels 1 & 2), vaccinations under PSD and some chronic disease management.

Non-Clinical Duties: Checking and maintaining stock levels in clinical rooms, checking store room stock levels, processing samples, checking refrigerator temperatures and maintaining infection control standards.
Maintain clinical skill set through training and appraisal.

Patient Interaction: Offer appointments and make appropriate follow-up appointments.
Refer on to other members of the practice team as necessary and participate in MDTs where asked to.
Participate in staff education sessions and training.

Collaboration: Work closely with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of care navigation strategies.
5.
Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, including updating patient records and managing correspondence.
Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with practice policies and procedures.

Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with patients and the healthcare team.
Provide information and updates to patients regarding their care and appointments.
