Job description Job responsibilities 1.Clinical Care and Patient Interactioni.Deliverhigh standards of holistic care, ensuring patient equality and dignity aremaintained.ii.Conductclinical observations, including temperature, pulse, respiration rate, bloodpressure (including 24-hour BP), and measure patient height and weight.iii.PerformNHS health checks.iv.Observeand promptly report any changes in patient conditions to the Practice Nurse orGP on call.v.Providechaperone support during examinations and treatments.vi.Assistwith Chronic Disease Management following practice protocols and withintraining and competency levels.vii.Providesupport during minor operations in line with practice protocol.viii.Deliveropportunistic health promotion where appropriate.ix.Toperform any Community Based Services (CBS) such as ear irrigation, under thesupervision of the ANP, Practice Nurse or Nurse Associate if appropriatelytrained.2.Specimen Collecting and Testingi.Obtainvenous blood samples from patients as directed.ii.Collecturine, stool, and sputum specimens; perform urinalysis; and ensure properlabelling, bagging, and online form completion.iii.PerformINR tests within Anticoagulation clinics.iv.Conductadditional tests such as ECGs, H Pylori testing, and Spirometry if fullytrained.v.AdministerInfluenza, Pneumonia, Vitamin B12, Shingles and RSV vaccines following practiceprotocols if appropriately trained.3.Health Promotion and Patient Educationi.Providelifestyle support, including stop-smoking advice if trained.ii.Conducthealth education sessions to encourage patients to manage their healthconditions effectively.4.Equipment and Stock Managementi.Regularlycheck and maintain resuscitation, oxygen, and fridges.ii.Ensurecalibration and maintenance of medical equipment (, ear syringe kits,scales, BP monitors, ECGs).iii.Maintainstock levels, order supplies, and organize doctors rooms and clinical areas asneeded.iv.Keepthe waiting room notice boards organized and current.5.Infection Control and Safetyi.Handlehazardous samples and waste in accordance with practice policy.ii.Ensureall samples and specimens are stored and transported to the laboratory perprotocols.iii.Maintainroom cleanliness and adhere to infection control standards.iv.Apply infection-control measures within thepractice according to local and national guidelines.v.Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely inaccordance with guidelines.vi.Ensure clinical waste is removed fromclinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPCpolicy.6.Documentation and Administrationi.Verifyand accurately complete documentation for all specimens and samples taken.ii.SupportEnhanced Service work, including audits and administrative tasks required forclaims processing if/when required.iii.Adhereto all practice policies, procedures, and guidelines, maintaining highstandards of care within role limitations.iv.Maintainaccurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with practice protocolsand GDPR regulations.vi.Inputpatient information, test results, and other relevant data into the electronichealth record system (SystmOne).vii.Manageown correspondence from within the practice, including emails.viii.Keepup to date with latest technologies used within the practice , AccuRx,website, emails, NHS App and use as per practice protocols.ix.Alwaysmaintain patient confidentiality, adhering to GDPR and Caldicott principles.7.Communication and Collaborationi.Workcollaboratively with all our receptionists, administrative staff, andhealthcare professionals to ensure the effective delivery of services.ii.Handlepatient feedback, complaints, and concerns with empathy and efficiency,escalating issues to the Practice Manager when necessary.iii.Attendregular team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about practicedevelopments, updates in policies, and ongoing professional development.8.Premisesi.Toopen and lock the premises and know the correct procedures for securing thebuilding.ii.Knowhow to contact the alarm companies.iii.Ensureyour consulting rooms is clean, cleared and restocked after every use.iv.Toreport any necessary Health and Safety issues.v.Ensureany health promotion around the practice or in waiting area is up to date.9.Trainingi.Undertaketraining as directed by your supervisors or managers.ii.Takeresponsibility for own learning and performance including participating inclinical supervision and acting as a positive role model.iii.Participatein annual appraisal with line manager and practice manager.iv.Ensurethat all statutory and mandatory training is completed according to thetimescales provided by the practice.v.Attendingprimary care health meetings, reception team meetings, and Protected LearningTime (PLT) meetings when required.Theduties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the reception teammay include any or all the items in the following list.

Person Specification Experience Essential -Minimum of 6 months experience working in a primary care environment in the last 2 years.
