In Workplace Real Estate & Facilities (WREF) our unique contribution will accelerate GSK's success by transforming the employee experience, inspiring everyone to be their best wherever they work.
WREF is the global team that is responsible for the full lifecycle of planning, execution and operations of GSK's real estate portfolio.
This includes defining the organisation's real estate and workplace experience strategy across our network; as well as leveraging our network of vendor partners to ensure delivery facility management and capital project services to GSK's global office portfolio.
The team is set up in a matrixed operating model where a Centre of Excellence (CoE) is responsible for service strategy and process ownership, and Regional teams are responsible for executing WREF's services.
Reporting to the Head of CoE, the WREF Head of Workplace Experience is a senior leadership position (2-3 direct and 4+ indirect reports) which carries a high level of decision-making authority and influence over workplace and employee experience across GSK.
The role is responsible for providing senior strategic leadership and direction to a global team accountable for defining WREF's Workplace Experience service delivery mode.
This includes direct accountability for defining the spaces and services WREF delivers as well as working with our HR and Tech partners to deliver a joined-up approach to employee experience across the organisation.
The role holder will need to bring the best and latest thinking (which is ambiguous and evolving) from external partners, into GSK, and will operate as a thought leader and partner to the WREF, Head of COE and Head of WREF, as well as cross functional partners.
Responsibilities: Define and manage the strategic direction of WREF's workplace experience model including the service standards, physical space design, space utilization, hybrid working, and tech tools that support these solutions.
Provide thought leadership on the future of the workplace and position GSK workplaces as a destination of choice through people-centric, technology-enabled experience services designed to increase employee engagement, improve wellness and optimize performance.
Act as an agent for change in the design and use of the workplace, developing the workplace design standards for GSK's office and scientific spaces.
Engage with WREF's regional teams and delivery partners to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in the provision of services across WREF's network of managed sites.
Oversee the development and implementation of change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage of new services, systems and space.
Develop and gain Leadership approval for companywide strategy, policies, and standards and drive their implementation to achieve an industry leading workplace experience.
Lead and cultivate trust-based business relationships with senior leaders across functional lines, internal and external to WREF, to align WREF's workplace experience services with business need and industry best practice.
Oversee the advancement of technology and data including the development and use of metrics and benchmarks to identify trends, opportunities and success measures.
Cultivate highly effective cross functional partnerships, to achieve a cohesive approach to the Future of Work and Employee Experience across GSK.
Leadership of numerous Inclusion programs across GSK, ensuring our GSK employees can perform at their best.
Financial Management of the wider CoE budget, including budget setting, accruals, actuals vs budget, cost center ownership and approval.
Why You?
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or 10+ years of professional experience.
Knowledge of Corporate Real Estate in workplace design, workplace strategy or facilities management.
Experience in a Corporate Real Estate leadership role; Ideally on both provider and client side.
Contemporary best practice experience in the delivery of workplace experience services and the future position of the workplace in the context of a hybrid work environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Outstanding managerial skills and leadership abilities in order to motivate and influence senior GSK executives and managers in a demanding and rapidly evolving environment.
Ability to think and act strategically and initiate and engage in long term planning.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and persuasive skills to successfully interact with senior stakeholders internal and external to GSK.
Strong ability to act as a motivator of change and influence without authority.
