Head of Procurement Permanent Theale/Home The Head of Procurement will lead Procurement & Commercial Management across all business units, overseeing direct and indirect sourcing (c£0.5bn p.a.).
This includes developing strategy, planning, execution, supplier governance, and ensuring adherence to policies.
The role involves managing a team of senior category managers and business support staff, working closely with the Finance Leadership Team and CFO.
Key responsibilities of the Head of Procurement include: Procurement Management: Lead sourcing, supplier relationships, and category strategy to optimize spend and achieve cost savings.
Strategy & Planning: Shape procurement strategy and align with changing business models, ensuring operational efficiency.
Contract & Commercial Management : Oversee negotiation and settlement of commercial matters with business units.
Supplier & Relationship Management : Develop a long-term strategy to foster key supplier relationships and drive cost-effective solutions.
Operational Efficiency: Benchmark performance, implement best practices, and manage financial controls to ensure compliance.
Leadership & Development: Lead, develop, and inspire the procurement team with clear succession plans.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high standards of integrity.
The successful Head of Procurement will have: At least 5 years of line management experience in procurement, with a successful track record in negotiation and account management.
Senior manager with proven leadership in procurement and commercial management.
MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, relationship management, and IT literacy (Excel).
Proven ability to lead teams and manage large-scale sourcing operations.
