We are searching for a Head of Data Engineering to drive the development and optimisation of an Azure-based data platform, unlocking its potential and delivering transformative value to the business.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in an enterprise setting, and is the first data appointment for the organisation!
What You'll Be Doing: Conduct a comprehensive data engineering health check to identify opportunities for optimisation and scalability.
Design, build, and maintain multi-dimensional data models, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Lead the development and maintenance of data warehousing solutions using Azure Synapse and related technologies.
Deliver high-impact projects on time and within scope, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to set and execute the data engineering strategy.
Embrace a high-performance culture within the data engineering team, aligning efforts with the broader organisational goals.
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful data solutions that drive decision-making.
Support the integration of data systems following acquisitions, ensuring seamless scalability.
What You Can Bring: Proven experience in data engineering leadership roles within enterprise-level organisations.
Advanced proficiency in Azure data stack, including Synapse, Data Factory, and Databricks.
Hands-on expertise in building and optimising scalable data pipelines and warehouses.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Experience working in financial services or asset/wealth management, with an understanding of control and risk factors.
A proactive, "go-getter" attitude and the willingness to go above and beyond when necessary.
A track record of scaling data teams and systems in rapidly growing environments.
