Description We are looking for a Head of Business Development to lead our team and support sales efforts aligned with our growth objectives.
This includes acquiring new members, promoting product adoption to generate additional revenue, and supporting the development of the Member Success team and the wider organisation.
The ideal candidate will focus on driving sales growth by leveraging market, industry, and economic opportunities in accordance with annual targets, budgets, and KPIs, while enhancing the fraud prevention value for our members.
This senior role will provide strategic insight and direction for business development activities, including targeting key sectors, acquiring new partners, and facilitating product onboarding.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities Work with the Director of Sales & Marketing, team members and other departments to provide overall strategic direction for business development activity for Cifas, including new member acquisition, new product adoption and expansion into new sectors.
Accountable for implementing a clear sector strategy of targeting key organisations within target sectors, working with onboarding and the marketing teams to execute this across our product portfolio.
Coach and manage team members to drive income growth.
Ensure an effective sales process is in place and team members generate and progress leads effectively.
Work in collaboration with Marketing and Communications colleagues to develop and execute a lead-generation strategy designed to drive new business opportunities for Cifas through sector plans.
Accountable for embedding a high-performance culture by driving sales targets; effectively setting stretch-targets and KPIs; regularly monitoring and reporting performance; supporting and directing activities to drive performance, as required.
Responsible for producing regular sales forecast data using pipeline information, working in collaboration with our onboarding and finance teams to ensure continuous alignment and invoicing processes are reconciled.
Accountable for management of prospect reporting and CRM systems to ensure sales opportunities are tracked and brought to fruition efficiently and in line with potential member needs.
Working in collaboration with teams across Cifas to create, maintain, and continually develop an efficient sales and onboarding process, compliant with Cifas procedures, delivering on growth targets.
Responsible for engaging industry networks to identify new prospects, new sectors, and new partners; collaborating with colleagues across Product Innovation and the Strategic Accounts team to deliver revenue growth.
Lead a cohesive and effective Business Development team, with high morale, personal development opportunities, motivating team members to demonstrate behaviours consistent with Cifas values and behaviours, proactively pursuing opportunities to increase our revenue and consistently ensure targets for growth are met through effective coaching and performance management as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise To be successful in this role, you will have: Sales team management and experience of leading and developing a business development team.
Sales and business development experience in terms of pipeline management.
Proven track record of delivering income growth in a business development environment.
Understanding of sales process and latest best practices.
Understanding of different industry sectors in relation to the Economic Crime landscape.
Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
Excellent questioning, listening and communication skills.
Effective time management and prioritisation.
Leadership, people management & strong relationship building skills.
