Key Responsibilities Leadership in Data Protection - Oversee data protection compliance across the organisation, with a focus on safeguarding both customer and employee data.
Privacy Advisory -Provide expert legal guidance on privacy matters, supporting various teams and ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
Policy and Procedure Development - Draft, update, and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
Risk Assessment and Privacy Impact - Oversee and conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs/PIAs) and advise on privacy implications in business projects.
Privacy Culture and Training - Drive data protection culture and awareness through targeted training programs and privacy campaigns.
Compliance Assurance - Conduct privacy compliance reviews, monitor internal controls, and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Key Requirements Experience - Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer or senior privacy professional, ideally within the financial services sector.
Legal Qualification - Background in law with expertise in privacy regulations (certifications like CIPP, CIPM are beneficial).
Regulatory Knowledge - In-depth understanding of GDPR, DPA, PECR, and emerging privacy laws.
Leadership Skills - Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team while promoting compliance across the organisation.
