Salary: £70,000 + depending on experience What you'll be doing: Lead the Global Mobility Tax Compliance team to deliver high-quality services aligned with agreed performance measures Ensure compliance with governance requirements for tax, social security, and other global and domestic mobility regulations Review and monitor compliance reporting and payment obligations, supporting programme requirements effectively Support and lead the development of operating strategies for global mobility and shared services, ensuring alignment across teams and the wider organisation Provide and oversee strategic advice on Employment Tax, Social Security, and Posted Worker regulations for new bids and ongoing programmes Manage relationships with third-party suppliers, ensuring compliance with wider organisational standards such as security, export control, and data protection Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies within the scope of global mobility services Monitor legislative updates, briefing teams on impacts and coordinating necessary process changes Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including Group Reward, Group Tax, Legal, and HR, to drive alignment and operational success Your skills and experiences: Proven experience in UK employment tax and expatriate matters, ideally from the Big 4 or a similar in-house role across multiple countries Extensive knowledge of personal tax, corporate tax, immigration, employment law, expatriate tax, and international payroll Well-versed in Global Mobility and international assignments, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated experience in account and supplier management, including managing the RFP and tender process for third-party providers A qualification in tax, such as the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT), or an equivalent recognised certification, is preferred Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
The Global Mobility Tax Compliance Team: As the Global Mobility Tax and Compliance Manager at BAE Systems, you will lead the Tax Compliance Team within the Global and Domestic Mobility Services, part of our Shared Services business.
This exciting role offers the opportunity to build valuable relationships across global teams, including Group Tax, HR, Finance, and our wider supply chain.
You will manage complex tax matters, ensuring deadlines are met while delivering clear and effective advice to key stakeholders.
Your ability to simplify complex tax scenarios will be essential to success.
In addition to managing one direct report, you'll play a key role in driving operational excellence and contributing to strategic success in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Travel requirements are minimal, with occasional visits to other UK sites (around once a month), attendance at conferences in Manchester or London, and the potential for international travel, likely no more than once a year.
