These responsibilities include some of the following: Strategic Leadership: Lead and inspire a global team in the innovative application of mass spectrometry technologies, including proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, affinity selection mass spectrometry (ASMS) screening, and other high-throughput techniques.
Strategy Development: Develop and implement forward-thinking mass spectrometry strategies for various modalities such as conventional reversible NCEs, covalent fragments, bifunctional degraders (ProTACs), molecular glues, and oligonucleotides.
Foster Innovation: Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams in Research Technologies and Therapeutic Areas to design experiments, analyze data, and provide critical insights for drug discovery programs.
Technical Expertise: Continuously monitor the latest advancements in mass spectrometry to ensure GSK remains at the forefront of scientific discovery.
Resource Management: Manage budgets, resources, and timelines efficiently to maximize the team's impact.

Why you?
Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., biochemistry, cell biology, analytical chemistry) with a focus on mass spectrometry or Bachelors or master's with 10+ Yrs of relevant experience.
5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, applying mass spectrometry to biochemistry and cell biology, including direct portfolio support and capability development.
Experience with leading and managing a team in scientific research or drug discovery Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Extensive knowledge and expertise in mass spectrometry technologies, including omics platforms and mass spectrometry-based screening and profiling.
Comprehensive knowledge of small molecule drug discovery processes and the role of mass spectrometry.
Strong understanding of cell biology, biochemistry, and biophysics in small molecule drug discovery.
Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
