Job summary UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFE We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Winchester, a category B remand prison based in Winchester, Hampshire.
The prison houses around 706 patients, and is a busy prison where no 2 days are ever the same, because of this the role would suit a GP who enjoys working in a fast paced environment.
This position will be focused on receptions, supporting the new intake of patients, within this role you will be working closely with a multi-disciplinary team including SMS prescriber, ACP and other GP's, you will be working.
Hours Monday - Friday 7pm-10pm 0r 6-10pm Saturday 2pm-5pm or 1-5pm Due to the nature of the hours we are open to this role being a job share Salary This position is part time.
You will receive an annual salary up to £126,600 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course Competency framework Regional and national career development opportunities Our bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needs Support from the wider team Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks Main duties of the job As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management Prescribing for patients, regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptions Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
Including diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate in line with guidelines and pathways.

Qualifications required MBChB or MBBS Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these Secure environments are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
