Frontend Engineer

Details of the offer

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our team.

Summary We are a very fast-growing Series A startup with investors including Google Ventures and Demis Hassabis (founder of DeepMind). Base salary of £60-70k depending on experience, along with a generous equity package. Flexible working hours & locations - so long as you can do our core hours of 11am-3pm GMT Mon-Fri, we're happy. Central London office available - though working from home/elsewhere is fine too. There are no strict requirements to be in the office every week, but we do have regular in-person events so expect to be face-to-face at least 2-3 times per month. Enhanced benefits package including unlimited holiday allowance, medical insurance, enhanced family and sick leave policies, and much more. As a Frontend Engineer with nPlan, you will be working with bleeding-edge products, with the goal of making a real impact in the physical world around us. By empowering our clients to tackle delay risk, powered by machine learning and LLM assistance, nPlan can help forecast the outcomes of major projects and change how major projects are planned and delivered.

At nPlan, you will have the opportunity to build features that directly benefit users, work with and learn from a small team of dedicated engineers in a trust-based environment.

About the role:

Collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers, you'll play a major role in building the frontend of our flagship products. You'll be involved in major decisions about our product as we begin a crucial and exciting stage of product innovation. You'll discover new ways to communicate our insights to our growing user base. This really invites you to think broadly about communicating uncertainty, risk, and complexity. You'll help others in reviewing code and designing components. You'll be working mainly with React, GraphQL (Apollo), and VisX, but also various other frontend libraries and tools. About you:

Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript, TypeScript. Experience with React. Experience writing robust markup and modern CSS. Familiarity working with Git in engineering teams. Please mention the word 'Crane' in your application. Nice-to-haves:

Experience with automation testing. Some experience with GraphQL and VisX (or other JS data visualisation library). A passion for writing reusable, modular code. Experience working closely with UX experts. Exposure to Node and Express. What your typical work week will be like:

You'll discuss architecture and best practices, to deliver on our requirements. You'll spend most of your time turning designs into product features, bringing our advanced project analytics to users in a clear and powerful way. You'll work in agile and cross-functional teams to deliver on our company strategy. You'll contribute to improving our capabilities and development process, working with your Chapter Lead to grow yourself and share knowledge with others. What working at nPlan will be like:

We are still a relatively small team so there is plenty of opportunity for a high degree of ownership over different areas of the company, and you will be directly exposed to all areas of the business. Your voice will always be heard. What you do or say counts, not who you are or where you're from. We have three core values that underlie everything we do: Learn from Everything, Be Radically Truthful, and Aim High, Run Fast. These enable us to create a collaborative, inclusive environment where we can move effectively and efficiently to implement the best solutions. We are a cross-disciplinary team, and come from all backgrounds and countries. Fantastic benefits package for Health & Wellbeing, Learning & Development, family leave, monthly team meals and more. We are committed to addressing the diversity problem in the tech industry, and that starts with making sure we have a diverse team where everyone feels at home and can contribute as an equal. Having time to yourself and a private life is important. We offer a flexible work environment and a generous holiday policy. We are working hard to create a workplace that is inclusive to everyone, no matter their background, or where they are in life. We believe that only a truly diverse place can create great products that serve a wide audience and improve the world. We believe in equality of opportunities and that's why we make sure that these ideas are reflected in our values, and that we really apply these in all aspects of our company culture. If you have any questions about what that looks like in practice, feel free to reach out to us. If you have a need for any adjustments during our interview process, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them.
