Job Description Description The Finance Officer is responsible for financial operations and management of our organization.
This is a highly responsible position that requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of financial principles and practices, as well as the ability to communicate complex financial information to various stakeholders.
The post is directly responsible to Director BSL UK and functionally responsible to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) through the Finance Manager in Qatar.
Core Activity Undertaking financial transactions including but not limited to maintaining UK financial ledgers, reconciliation activities, processing of invoices and payments to customers, suppliers and employees and maintaining an invoice tracker.
Manage relationships with Banks and Auditors. Assisting with the development of Financial Controls and improvements.
Provide data integrity and liaise with other functions to streamline integrated processes and improve efficiency.
Managing the application of the controls in the processes.
Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Maintaining the Fixed Asset (FA) Register and undertaking reviews.
Supporting the management of FX risk and planning.
Supporting the maintenance of the accounting system.
Undertaking financial analysis.
Support in the month end timetable and month end close process.
Support the timely and accurate completion of Stat reporting.
Managing the complete month end process in a timely manner including balance sheet reconciliation. Leading reviews with other functions by developing financial presentations to analyse forecast/actuals with Service Delivery Manager which feeds the business finance review.
Contract Finance Report (CFR) - providing the actuals, rolling over the CFR and completing the balance sheet items building up towards completing the whole CFR.
Develop the capabilities to conduct correct accounting allocation.
Owner of the expense process as an ERP system (Zoho) superuser.
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and proactively adapt financial strategies as needed.
Supporting any additional activities as necessary within the finance function. Key Accountabilities Reconciliations for tax purposes and VAT Completion of month end accruals Completion of the Financial Control Framework (FCF) Workbooks Reconciliation of the monthly General Ledger Maintenance of the FA Register Control and reconciliation of debtor and creditor accounts Completion of bank reconciliations Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices Regular financial audits conducted in which areas of risk identified and mitigation controls implemented Requirements Bachelor's degree (Preferred but qualified by experience considered) in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel, Sage, and ERP tools (Zoho Books Desirable).

· Experienced and competent leader at this level.
· Requires a minimum of 2 years working at Technician level prior to undertaking a Supervisor role.
· Demonstrating breadth of experience, currency & recency via a Log Book (electronic or paper) of skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft type or in bays.
