About You and the Role We are now seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team and support the financial management of our organisation.
As a Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of the Authority's finances.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of financial duties that will contribute to the smooth running of the National Park's operations.
Key Responsibilities: Finance Officer work areas include: payroll, purchase ledger, credit cards, e-commerce, debtors ledger, income, travel and subsistence, grant claims, petty cash, bank reconciliation, budget monitoring, insurances, vehicles, tendering and management accounts reporting.
Operation of the financial systems in accordance with legal, audit and management requirements.
Specific lead areas will vary between Finance Officers, but team support through knowledge and practice in non-lead areas is expected.
Assisting in compilation of annual accounts and responding to audit queries.
Assisting in the compilation of the annual budget.
Monitoring and maintaining financial records relating to externally grant-aided and internal projects - keeping accurate records to ensure deadlines for submission are met, income received and drawdown fulfils all requirements.
Assisting in the implementation of new systems as required.
Role Requirements: Qualification with Association of Accounting Technicians (or equivalent) or significant experience working in an accounts discipline Numeracy and Literacy to GCSE level or equivalent Advanced Excel skills Ability to develop financial spreadsheets Substantial experience in operating financial ledgers Experience of preparing and monitoring of budgets and preparation of year end accounts Methodical in approach, ensuring accuracy under pressure Ability to work in a small, busy team If this role sounds like it's for you, then we really would like to hear from you.
