Our client is a fast growth streetwear brand currently seeking a Finance Manager, who will play a critical role in improving decision-making processes and enhancing the financial responsiveness of the business.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day financial operations while also supporting strategic initiatives related to budgeting, cash flow management, and stakeholder relationships.
This is the first in-house finance hire at an exciting time to join whilst the brand continues to grow.
This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive approach to financial management and the ability to work closely with Senior Leadership and external accountants.
Key Responsibilities: Budgeting & Financial Reporting: Annual Budget Development: Work with the leadership team to develop the annual budget for sales and margins.
P&L Build & Management: Build and maintain the company's Profit & Loss statement, tracking spend versus budget across various areas such as sampling, couriers, travel, etc.
Stock Management: Provide real-time data on stock spend, stock holding, stock in transit, and stock on order, ensuring clarity on all current and future payables related to inventory.
Core Financial Operations: Bookkeeping: Manage aged payables and receivables, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Payroll: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments to all employees.
Payments: Manage vendor payments and ensure all financial obligations are met on time.
VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with statutory regulations.
Companies House Filings: Ensure all necessary filings with Companies House are completed accurately and on time.
Strategic Support: External Accountants: Support leadership in managing this relationship, who currently prepare management accounts and provide financial modelling.
Liaise with accountants on cash flow management, liquidity, and financial projections.
Auditor and Year-End Process: Assist in managing the relationship with auditors, supporting the year-end process, and ensuring all financial reporting is accurate and timely.
Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience in a similar finance role, ideally in a growing or entrepreneurial environment.
Experience in retail/manufacturing is essential.
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, VAT returns, and Companies House requirements.
Experience developing budgets, managing P&Ls, and providing financial analysis.
Understanding of inventory management and stock-related financials.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with founders, external partners, and stakeholders.
Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
