Principal Purpose To provide service and support to customers and colleagues on the client's products or solutions.
Capable of solving complex technical issues along with undertaking servicing of the clients' products and solutions, whilst being focussed on the customer's needs and requirements.
Principal Elements of the Field Service Engineers Role Resolving cases, problems / device applications.
Product / solution lifecycle management from site survey to decommissioning.
Product / solution related technical support for customers and colleagues.
Ownership of product / solution related modifications from request to completion.
Understanding and knowledge of the product / solution to an advanced level.
Responsible for maintaining high product / solution reliability.
Able to be the "go to person" for all technical aspects related to the product / solution.
Able to diagnose and repair even the most complex problems quickly and accurately.
Able to travel and stay away, to serve full installed base of specialised products.
Competence in Remote Service to diagnose or repair remote devices effectively.
Communicate effectively with 2nd level support to ensure issues are reported effectively and resolved quickly, sharing knowledge with 2nd level and local engineers effectively.
Supporting others by being able to identify and share the latest technical information, bulletins, service news, etc.
related to the product(s) / solution(s) you are a specialist for quickly and efficiently.
Working with the manufacturing site / 2nd level (as appropriate) able to identify and share best practice for tasks such as site survey, installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, relocation, upgrades, and decommissioning.
Create appropriate car stock, local stock, and central stock recommendations to reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) whilst keeping costs within acceptable levels.
Requirements 2-3 years of experience in Electronics and IT HNC/HND qualification or equivalent hands-on experience Valid driving license Willingness to travel and stay overnight when necessary
