Job summary Arrow, part of the Sonderwell Group, is currently recruiting Female Support Workers who are able and willing to drive in the UK to complement their existing teams providing support to adults with a variety of different diagnoses.
They support individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health issues, acquired brain injury, sensory impairment, dementia, drug and/or alcohol problems, and various medical conditions.
Main duties of the job As a Support Worker with Arrow, you will be supporting individuals by assisting with household tasks, social care, educational/vocational development, positive behaviour development, and medication management.
The role requires a full UK/EU driving license for insurance purposes, and you must be able to drive a manual vehicle.

Arrow provides support to adults with a range of diagnosis in the Plymouth Area, these include; • Learning Disabilities • Physical Disabilities • Mental Health Issues • Acquired Brain Injury • Sensory Impairment • Dementia • Drug and/or alcohol problems • With or without any medical conditions As a Support Worker with Arrow we support you with meeting and getting to know individuals who you have been matched with and who you will be regularly supporting.
Areas of support provided, include: Comprehensive assessment and person-centred support planning – including assistance in identifying needs and aspirations, and support in formulating a plan to turn those aspirations into achievable goals.
Household tasks: including cooking and meal planning, housework, shopping, laundry and budgeting.
Social care tasks: including support with benefit payments and money, training in the use of public transport, development of social and recreational activities, and the development of friendships and other supportive relationships.
Educational/vocational development: including support in adult education classes and supported employment placements.
Positive behaviour development: including the development of more positive behaviours and the corresponding reduction of self-harmful or socially inappropriate behaviours which interfere with satisfactory relationships and achievement of personal goals.
Medications management: including supervision of self-administration of medications including those prescribed for mental health problems, and monitoring of beneficial and negative side-effects.
We welcome applications from people with experience in care and support work but you do not need to have experience - we will provide you with all the training you need to complete this role.
Due to the nature of this role you need to have a full UK/ or EU driving license for insurance purposes.
You do not necessarily need to have your own vehicle, but it is a requirement of this role to drive a manual vehicle.
