We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team in a mixed role that combines the responsibilities of a Primary Teaching Assistant and a Family Support Worker.
This role is full-time hours (Monday-Friday), but will be split into two part-time positions.
Key Responsibilities: As a Primary Teaching Assistant , you will: - Support classroom teaching, assisting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons.
- Help individual students or small groups with learning activities and ensure their engagement.
- Provide additional support to children with special educational needs (SEN), adapting resources and methods as necessary.
- Monitor student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and offering tailored support to meet the needs of each student.
As a Family Support Worker , you will: - Build positive relationships with families, offering guidance and support to enhance home-school connections.
- Work with families to identify needs and provide practical advice or referrals to appropriate services.
- Support the emotional wellbeing of children and their families, offering a safe space for discussions and problem-solving.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve attendance, behaviour, and learning outcomes for students.
Essential Skills & Experience: - Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies.
- A caring, empathetic approach to working with children and families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding procedures.
Desirable Skills: - Experience in a Family Support Worker role or equivalent training.
- Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
- An understanding of the challenges families face and how to support them effectively.
