An exciting opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art educational and community provision. The governors at Ysgol Bae Baglan wish to appoint a Family Engagement Officer to start in January 2025. This role supports the school in developing family engagement, community engagement, and multi-agency working.
The position is ideally suited for candidates who can demonstrate the following:
Ability to promote meaningful and productive relationships with families. Ability to develop partnerships that serve community and learner needs. Ability to support the alignment of integrated services to support our most vulnerable families. Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, both verbally and in writing, engaging with a variety of people (pupils, families, colleagues, and stakeholders) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore, and discuss technical issues and capture feedback. Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive. Ability to structure and prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the school team as a whole. Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative and focus. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Supporting the delivery of a Community Focused Schools approach at Ysgol Bae Baglan. The position holder will aim:
To promote meaningful and productive relationships with families. To develop partnerships that serve community and learner needs. To support the alignment of integrated services to support our most vulnerable families. Main Responsibilities:
Conduct and participate in regular meetings and develop effective lines of communication. Develop strong relationships with children and young people, parents/carers, and school staff to understand their views and experiences. Effectively manage these partnerships with all stakeholders throughout the school. Assist in developing and delivering training and presentations to all partners in the project on the importance of engaging effectively with parents to improve pupils' outcomes. Assist in preparing reports to the local steering group on project progress and insights for the Headteacher, senior leaders, and governors. Work collaboratively with the relevant departments within the Local Authority to share good practices and problem-solve issues identified. Be responsible for the delivery of parental engagement and child poverty work, involving local partners, project management, professional networks, and in-service training. Develop plans to support activities in schools and ensure that work undertaken generates the learning and evidence required. Support influencing local and national change, share learning, create resources, organize events, and develop case studies. We are looking for an effective, creative practitioner with a track record in successfully working with our most vulnerable pupils and their families through multi-agency working.
