Working closely with the Operations manager , leading and inspiring the Deputy Events managers and casual team to deliver safe and successful events.
You will support clients and guests in every aspect of running events from: Preparing the venue.
Ensuring the event runs smoothly and safely.
Assisting in all aspects of event build and breakdown.
Roughly 10% of the role is desk based with 90% working around the venue - this is a physically demanding role.
We are looking for someone who: Is a confident, practical team player.
Has excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Has experience of event management, front of house service and managing a team on site. This role will suit you if you enjoy setting up for events and the buzz of running a live events. Flexibility is required as the hours include evening and weekend work.
Basic Requirements Experience in a similar front of house events environment.
Excellent communication skills both written and face to face.
Able to deliver a high level of customer service.
Flexibility in approach; the post involves evening and weekend work.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to think on your feet, use your initiative and problem solve.
Some knowledge of the technical aspects of event production would be very useful.
Some experience of operational health and safety.
Main Duties Greet clients and offer exceptional customer service.
Prepare the venue for the arrival of each event, checking cleanliness, helping to build stages, set out furniture, etc.
Liaise with internal and external teams efficiently - including electricians, plumbers, car parking attendants, cleaners and caterers.
Liaise closely with and support the organiser, and/or their production team, during their tenancy.
Answer all client and visitor requests in a polite confident and efficient professional manner.
Deal effectively with any complaints.
Handle all matters with a fair and even response in accordance with standard practices.
Properly communicate and feedback to all team members during shift changes and post shows on all aspects of the events.
Clean and clear spaces - this is a hands-on role and we need someone who will 'muck in' and get the job done.
Responsible for the security of the buildings and grounds when opening and locking up.
Responsible for the health and safety of the guests, organisers, casual staff, contractors and exhibitors.
Monitor and manage contractors directly employed and assist with clients' sub-contractors By the very nature of helping to run a venue with a huge range of different events, this list cannot be conclusive and so an adaptable, can-do attitude is essential. Qualifications/Training An Event Management related qualification would be useful but not essential.
A First Aid Qualification would be useful but not essential.
A Health & Safety Qualification, e.g.
IOSH, NEBOSH would be useful but not essential.
Personal licence holder.
Fire Safety Training.
Manual Handling.
Driving Licence essential An understanding of electrics or electrical safety would be useful.
Training for the right candidate will be provided.
Special Requirements Weekend, Evening and Bank Holiday working.
