Role Overview: The Event Sales Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all events at Lough Erne Resort, with a special emphasis on delivering memorable weddings, conferences and seamless golf events.
This role requires close collaboration with the Sales Manager, Golf Operations Director, and other department heads to ensure that all aspects of events are executed flawlessly.
The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a passion for hospitality, a meticulous eye for detail, and a drive to exceed guest expectations while achieving revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities: Wedding Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all your wedding clients, providing personalised consultations and expert guidance to plan their dream day.
Collaborate with couples to create bespoke packages, including menu selection, venue setup, décor, entertainment, and schedules.
Oversee all aspects of wedding execution, from ceremony setup to evening celebrations, ensuring every detail aligns with client expectations.
Work closely with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team to design and deliver exceptional culinary experiences for wedding receptions.
Manage post-event follow-ups to gather feedback and foster relationships for future referrals.
Golf Events: Collaborate with the Golf Operations Director to plan and execute golf tournaments, corporate outings, and member events.
Coordinate with the Sales Manager to attract and secure golf-related events, ensuring they align with resort standards.
Ensure seamless integration of golf schedules with other resort activities to avoid conflicts and maximise guest satisfaction.
Assist in the promotion of golf packages to enhance the resort's reputation within the golfing community.
General Event Management: Plan and oversee all events, including corporate functions, private celebrations, conferences, and charity galas, ensuring consistent excellence.
Actively participate in client meetings, site visits, and planning sessions to understand and deliver on specific event requirements.
Liaise with internal departments (Food & Beverage, Reservations, Housekeeping, Spa, Golf, and Maintenance) to ensure all logistical aspects of events are coordinated.
Develop detailed event schedules and contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire the Events team to provide exceptional service and deliver outstanding results.
Coordinate training sessions to ensure staff members are knowledgeable about event protocols and resort standards.
Promote a collaborative work environment by fostering strong communication among departments.
Collaboration with Sales and Marketing: Work closely with the Sales Manager to attract high-value clients, particularly in the wedding and golf sectors.
Provide input into promotional materials and marketing campaigns to highlight the resort's event capabilities.
Assist in developing pricing strategies and bespoke packages to maximise revenue while maintaining value for clients.
Financial and Operational Oversight: Manage event budgets, ensuring financial targets are met without compromising quality.
Monitor and report on event revenue, identifying opportunities for growth and cost savings.
Drive upselling opportunities, such as premium venue options, enhanced catering, and post-event experiences (e.g., spa treatments or golf rounds).
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Ensure that all events meet or exceed the resort's standards of excellence.
Handle guest feedback professionally, addressing any issues promptly and implementing solutions to improve future events.
Regularly evaluate processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Skills and Experience Required: Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in event management, with a strong focus on weddings and hospitality.
Experience in organising golf events is highly desirable.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver high-quality results under pressure.
Client Relationship Management: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from initial inquiry to post-event feedback.
Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Collaboration: Strong aptitude for working collaboratively with various departments, including Sales, Golf Operations, Food & Beverage, and Housekeeping.
Financial Acumen: Experience in budget management, revenue optimisation, and cost control.
Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with event management software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
