Job summary Neurology - Epilepsy Co-Ordinator - University Hospital of WalesThe Neurology Epilepsy service is currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated Co-Ordinator to support the delivery of key services for the Epilepsy Department within the Neurosciences Directorate at Cardiff and Vale UHB.The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to The Consultants and Clinical Nurse Specialists within the service..The post holder will need to be highly motivated, flexible and multi skilled with excellent organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills will be required to facilitate effective working relationships.It is vitally important that we provide a high quality service to patients, therefore if you are interested in joining a highly motivated team - it would be great to hear from you.
Main duties of the job The successful post holder will be a highly motivated team player ideally with administrativeexperience and possess soundclerical skills.Excellent computer literacy is essential for the role, which will include the use of Microsoft Office packages and relevant databases.
Highly organised, self-motivated, with a flexible approach to work with excellent verbal and written communication skills.A clear understanding of patient confidentiality and being able to work to deadlines is also required.
The role includes supporting the Epilepsy service with general administrative duties deemed suitable for role/grade.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential NVQ Level 3 Business Administration or equivalent experience acquired through a Patient Administration role Educated to GCSE level Ability to use Microsoft Office Desirable ECDL Experience Essential Use of e-mail system and electronic diary system Experience of working within a patient focused environment Knowledge of Health Records Standards and Operating Procedures Experience of working within a team Experience of working within Health Records Skills Essential Excellent filing skills Good interpersonal skills Proven organisational skills Ability to problem solve Excellent communication skills both written and oral Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team in a busy and challenging environment Ability to prioritise workload Special Knowledge Desirable Experience participating in Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings Personal Qualities Essential Ability to remain calm and work under pressure Flexible approach to work Positive attitude, Enthusiastic and reliable Desirable Ability to speak Welsh Other Essential Ability to travel between sites when required.
