Position Summary The Group Engineering Manager's role combines technical knowledge and skills with leadership responsibilities.
As Group Engineering Manager, you will lead CAPEX strategies across the region, ensure engineering standards are implemented, drive technological innovation while developing the site maintenance and engineering teams.
The role can be based in Ireland, UK, Switzerland or Germany but must be available to travel to all our European Sites depending on the business needs.
Essential Duties and Tasks Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring that all EHS requirements and procedures are adhered to, including the reporting and resolution of all incidents or accidents and the correct use of specified PPE.
Oversee the operations of the Site Engineering teams.
Monitor their performance, facilitate growth and handle disputes within the team to ensure efficient operations.
Establishing project goals and timelines and ensure they are monitored and completed withing the agreed timeframes and budgets.
This will involve determining the resources and milestones to achieve project success Responsibility for the Engineering component of any Capex project; including selecting the OEM / new technology, working with management and finance to develop the Capex request for approval, working with Procurement to purchase the new items; managing the capex installation and commissioning and reviewing the ROI validation.
With the assistance of the Procurement team negotiate and manage contracts with clients and suppliers.
Develop and oversee the maintenance strategy for equipment.
Ensure that equipment remains operational, reduce non-functional periods and maintain productivity.
Apply communication skills to inform clients about project progress and engage and instruct team members Ensure that all production sites in day to day operations and projects adhere to the relevant regulations.
This involves understanding relevant legislation, monitoring changes and ensuring work processes and outcomes comply.
Work with Site Leaders to manage ongoing site maintenance and project budgets to help save on costs and track progress.
Responsibility for monitoring expenditures, allocating resources efficiently and making the necessary adjustments to keep the project within budget.
Lead the Site Maintenance/Engineering Teams in using new technologies that improve work efficiency.
Facilitate the team to adapt to new industry developments and deliver excellent results.
Oversee day to day maintenance and project quality assurance to ensure that all output meets standards.
Implement robust quality control processes to detect and correct final product quality deviations.
