The Job role involves managing electrical implementation in Data Centres in the UK and Europe.
Location: UK Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 Key Responsibilities Electrical Design & Implementation : Develop and implement electrical designs for data centre infrastructure, including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and cooling systems.
System Analysis & Optimization : Evaluate the performance of existing electrical systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, capacity, and reliability.
Compliance & Standards : Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant safety and operational standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE), as well as client requirements.
Project Management : Oversee electrical installations and upgrades, manage timelines, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Emergency Support : Respond to electrical issues and perform troubleshooting to minimize downtime in data centre operations.
Maintenance & Testing : Develop preventative maintenance schedules and carry out regular testing to ensure system integrity and reliability.
Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive records of electrical systems, including wiring schematics, load calculations, and maintenance logs.
Qualifications Education : Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience : 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on data centres or other mission-critical facilities.
Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of power distribution, electrical safety standards, UPS systems, and backup generators.
Proficiency in CAD and electrical design software is a plus.
Certifications : Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; relevant industry certifications (e.g., BICSI, Uptime Institute) are advantageous.
Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and document technical information.
Problem Solving : Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues under pressure and in high-stakes environments.
