Binnies are pleased to be recruiting for Environmental Consultants to join our growing multi-disciplinary Environmental Services team.
You will get the opportunity to work on an interesting and varied portfolio of work including flood, coastal and maritime projects for our clients such as the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and local authorities and a range of other sectors such as ports, water utilities, transport and renewable power.One of our newest projects is SESRO (South East Strategic Reservoir Option).
SESRO is a 150 million cubic metre reservoir near Abingdon, which is also seeking to provide opportunities to create new habitats and increase biodiversity, as well as providing new leisure and recreation facilities. https://thames-wrmp.co.uk/projects/sesro/.We are a close team and have an active Environmental Community of Practice and pride ourselves on being at the forefront of environmental best practice and innovation, including digital EIA. Our environmental professionals are empowered to work closely with our multi-disciplinary teams and shape projects to deliver smarter and more sustainable solutions. Binnies hold the IEMA EIA Quality Mark which is a benchmark of our high standards in EIA delivery and are a sponsor of the Association of the Environmental Clerk of Works. We will also ensure you will be mentored as required to develop your environmental assessment skills, and work towards full membership and chartership with IEMA, IES, CIWEM or another professional institute if not already obtained.
We can help you develop any particular specialism in environmental and sustainability assessment to match your career aspirations and interests.About the RoleWe are looking for candidates to work closely with other environmental and engineering disciplines to:Contribute to all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) including SEA, feasibility, screening/scoping, and Environmental Statement chaptersProvide input into the range of other environmental and sustainability assessment and consenting applications such as WFD, HRA, planning, Development Consent Orders and Environmental PermitsAssist with coordinating technical input from environmental specialists across Binnies, wider RSK family of businesses and our specialist supply chainSupport construction stage deliverySupport stakeholder engagement and communication with clients, stakeholders and the publicProvide input to bids and proposals.Essential RequirementsThe role is suitable for an Environmental professional with several years of relevant environmental assessment experience.
You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:An environmental related degreeBe a member of IEMA, IES, CIWEM or another professional instituteBe working towards ChartershipA sound understanding of EIAExcellent written and oral communicationHold a full UK driving licenceHave previous consultancy experienceHave the ability to organise, manage and prioritise work, with or without supervision, in order to meet tight deadlines and deliver well-planned work schedulesWhy join usWould you like to work in a business where you feel empowered to grow?  Where there is no place for criticism or discrimination?  A place where people are mindful and respectful?
