THE JOB To deliver practical and targeted training across all Carr's Billington transport operations, including Bulk feeds, Fuels, Retail and Machinery divisions, to new and existing drivers to maximise business performance whilst ensuring that compliance and best practice are maintained.
Develop a robust training matrix to encompass all Carr's Billington transport operations.
Including Bulk feeds, Fuels, Retail and Machinery divisions.
Carry out full driving assessments with written reports on all new drivers coming into the business.
Implement training Plans to improve environmental and safety performance of the fleet.
Deliver practical, targeted training relating to driving hours, tachographs, Working Time Directive (WTD), Telematics and fuel management to new starters and existing drivers.
Ensure transport operations, practices and procedures are managed in line with the Company's Health & Safety policy and other statutory compliance, including legal compliance.
Work closely with the companies SHE department to write, review and train risk assessments and procedures relating to transport along with the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 Focus training to improve business performance of the business unit regarding MPG, Health and Safety, Compliance and RTA reduction and reduced equipment damage.
Oversee and participate in all internal and external audits for Fleet / Compliance and Driver Development to ensure compliance and best practice.
Work to improve the fleet's fuel efficiency.
Monitor and improve vehicle Telematics System and Driver Training.
Ensure all new drivers receive full company/site inductions and training, for example in blowing and delivery techniques, when they join the business.
Deliver vehicle and equipment familiarisation, shunter training and training to support licence acquisition as required.
Ensure all training records are completed accurately, on time and comply with all legal and compliance standards.
Pass on best practice and standardise process across the business.
Carry out accident investigations and produce a report with recommendations for training.
Carry out risk assessments complete with recommendation for transport related issues Assist the Transport team with transport related customer complaints and report findings.
Carry out FLT training as and when required.
Manage driver DCPC training matrix and ensure drivers have annual training required.
Also manage driver ADR training as required.
To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, assurance scheme and ADR.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED Essential Must hold HGV C+E license ADR In tanks and packages Driver Training qualification Excellent IT proficiency Communicate effectively with other areas of the business.
