Lead on the development of administrative processes and policies to support the work of the admin teams across Safeguarding Children, Children & Young People Diabetes, Children in Our Care, Vulnerable Children's Team, Children's Community Complex Care Needs, Children's Community Nursing, Children's Community Learning Disability, Children's Continence and Paediatric Dietetics.
Participate in recruitment and selection of new admin staff.
Identify and advise on areas where the policies/ procedures may need to be reviewed.
This role may be called upon to deal with members of the public regarding difficult, sensitive and emotional situations.
Some of the content of the cases could be emotionally difficult for the post holder.
Supervision and support will be available.
This role will be required to provide cross cover at times for the Directorate Support Manager in Acute Paediatrics.

Identify and advise on areas where the policies/procedures may need to be reviewed.
To work closely with the Safeguarding Children admin teamto ensure smooth running of the service and timely organisation of meetings and child protection medical reports that could be later used in court of law.
To act as a key point of contact for Safeguarding Children admin concerns within the Trust communicating any concerns and issues to the appropriate team member in a timely fashion and escalating to the relevant Named Nurse, some of which includes highly complex and sensitive information.
Proactively identify areas where conflicts of priorities might arise and take action to prevent these.
Exercise a high level of autonomy in identifying and planning own workload.
Communication with Multi agencies around the Borough disseminating information as appropriate.
Develop good working relationships with key personnel in other agencies use this network to engage and network for the whole Safeguarding team.
Cascade information received from Senior Directorate Managers to the Admin team to ensure smooth running of the services.
Work with senior nursing team to manage guidelines and Patient Information Leaflets (PILs); ensuring guidelines and SOPs that need updating are flagged and uploaded to the Intranet.
Responsible for the management and housekeeping of the Paediatric and Safeguarding Children Intranet sites and associated links.
Provide cross cover at times for Directorate Support Manager in Acute Paediatrics.

Person Specification Education Essential Educated to Degree or equivalent level of knowledge.
Appropriate administrative qualifications RSA 2/3, Office Management or equivalent level of knowledge.
Desirable Relevant further study or short course study appropriate to post.
Knowledge Essential Knowledge of a full range of administrative and organisational abilities.
Knowledge of the NHS and partner agencies - understanding of roles and working practice.
Knowledge of managing within an NHS healthcare setting.
Experience of dealing with difficult operational issues.
Desirable Knowledge of the NHS information systems.
Basic knowledge of Child Protection legislation and practice.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Experience Essential Experience of working with and in teams from multi agencies.
Understanding of administrative systems - has experience of developing administrative processes.
Co-ordination of teams and individuals - managing team diaries and conflicting demands.
Able to prioritise others' workload when the unforeseen happens.
Minute taking and production of reports and notes following meetings.
Desirable Experience of PA work - especially diary management.
Skills and Abilities Essential Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information both internal and external to the organisation.
Good negotiation and persuasive skills - evidence of working with external agencies and influencing abilities.
IT skills including Microsoft Office or equivalent (PowerPoint, Excel, databases, word) Able to devise and manage databases - produce spreadsheets and reports.
Desirable European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
