Systems Engineer - Direct Entry We're inventing the future, right here, right now, at Thales.

We are seeking a Direct Entry Systems Engineer to join our team on a full time basis.
Working on leading edge projects developing the future autonomous Maritime Mine Countermeasures (MMCM) systems, you will be involved as an integral part of our team throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
You'll be working with experts in their field to develop your breadth and depth of knowledge across the autonomous maritime domain, and will receive support to develop your career and work towards professional registration status as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
The role is based out of either of our Templecombe or Cheadle Heath sites.
The successful candidate will be required to work on a number of interesting and challenging projects, both in the UK and worldwide, working closely with our clients to ensure Thales delivers to our customer's expectations.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks The role may include, but not be limited to, the following wide and varied activities: System definition activities - requirements definition, functional and physical definitions Engagement with, and presentation to, the Customer & End-User Systems modelling and analysis of system performance Product development; research & development Monitoring of emerging detailed design within various implementation teams - acoustic, hardware, mechanical, software, etc.
Preparation of infeed to system level-design reviews Integration, Verification, Validation & Qualification (IVVQ) planning and execution, including platform trials from time-to-time Preparation for requirements sell-off and contract acceptance with Customer Skills, experience & qualifications You will be studying for, or recently completed a degree or equivalent in an engineering or relevant scientific discipline, e.g.
systems, software, hardware, electrical/electronics, mechanical, communications, etc.
Desirable experience Relevant experience gained through academic or work-place activities, e.g.
modelling, project work, analysis, etc.
MatLab, or equivalent, experience Understanding of signal processing and network design Willingness to develop systems engineering skills Strong analytical abilities with a methodical approach System modelling skills Values & Behaviours Willingness to learn and develop individual skills Innovative Ability to communicate clearly and freely Reliable Strong team player Knowledge sharing In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
