We are seeking a dedicated Design & Technology Technician to join our secondary schools in southend on sea starting January 2025.
This part-time role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a thriving Design & Technology department, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and resources while helping students achieve their best.
As a Design & Technology Technician , you will be responsible for maintaining workshop tools and machinery, preparing materials for lessons, and providing technical support to both students and staff.
Your role will be essential in creating a safe, innovative, and dynamic learning environment that encourages students to develop their skills in design, engineering, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities: Support teaching staff by preparing materials, tools, and equipment for lessons.
Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained and in safe working order.
Provide technical assistance during practical lessons, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.
Manage stock levels, ordering supplies as required to maintain smooth departmental operations.
The ideal Design & Technology Technician will have a background in a technical or creative field, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive attitude.
Familiarity with workshop equipment, health and safety regulations, and experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
