Job summary Support the Department Manager in leading and supervising a safe, high standard of nursing practice and the delivery of evidenced based patient care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code and the Trust's Strategy for Nursing and Trust Policies and Procedures.
Provide clinical and managerial leadership for nursing and support staff to ensure effective running of the unit in the absence of Manager.
Promote positive patient experience to all patients ensuring a positive patient journey.
This post will be covering Liverpool site.
Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and motivated individual to provide strong clinical leadership in the role of Deputy Manager for The Hewitt Fertility Centre.
We are looking for nurses with a strong interest in Fertility and previous experience within gynaecology and or fertility is required .The role will involve, overseeing and delivering direct patients care, co-ordinating rotas and clinics, managing a team of nurses, coaching junior staff, supporting service redesign and supporting the department manager with day to day operational management .The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking individual who will be passionate and committed to delivering excellent standards of clinical care and patient experience.The post holder will have leading role in developing services and therefore will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to embrace and implement change.

Ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times.
Support the department manager in undertaking personal development reviews, risk assessments and management, managing clinical incidents, department audits, data collection for nursing indicators and use of Power Bi.
To identify and monitor care priorities and organise workload for Fertility patients in the Division.
Competent in USS/Embryo Transfers or commence training within 6 months of commencing employment.
Deliver skilled, high quality, expert and evidence-based Fertility nursing care to all patients and their families attending the department.
To undertake nursing interventions consistent with evidence-based practice, transferring and applying knowledge and skills to meet the patient and partners needs.
To deliver care in accordance with identified standards and contribute toward department the monitoring and development of standards.
To be competentand abide by statutory rules and regulations concerning the safe custody and administration of drugs to all patients.
Person Specification Knowledge of Health & Safety Essential Safe use of equipment Knowledge of infection control policy and processes Promote positive reporting culture for incidents/ ACE's Desirable IOSH Physical Requirements Essential Highly developed physical skills, accuracy important, manipulation of fine tools, materials Dexterity and accuracy Ability to work across sites/ departments with Hewitt Fertility Service Experience Essential Specialist knowledge across range of procedures in fertility, underpinned by theory Develop specialised programmes of care, provide highly specialised advice concerning care Develop specialised programmes of care, provide highly specialised advice concerning care Organise own time and juniors, experience of generating staff rotas Desirable Competent in USS or Embryo Transfer or must be willing to commence training within 6 months of commencing position Qualifications Essential RN/RM Mentorship in Practice/ ENB998 Professional Knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma level specialist training, experience, short course-managerial training Registered Midwives must maintain midwifery practice hours to maintain registration Desirable Nurse Independent Prescribing (V300) Leadership Course, eg LEO Skills, Knowledge & Aptitudes Essential Fertility experience Implements policies and proposes changes to practice Service Improvement Influencing skills Recruits, manages and develops staff Deals with distressed relatives/ breaking bad news Ability to engage & motivate workforce Ability to manage time and work under pressure Promote local resolution to complaints and demonstrate ability to diffuse conflict Contribute to the development of specialist protocols Undertake surveys or audits as necessary Awareness of regulatory bodies & requirements CCG's NHSLA, CQC, NMC Desirable Networking
