Job summary We are seeking a motivated and enthusiasticDeputy HR Business Partner to join our team supporting the Division of Medicineand Acute Care Division within the Trust.You will report to two HR Business Partners todeliver a high-quality HR service across the two Divisions.
The key elements ofthe roles is to provide leadership and direction to the team, supportingcomplex cases, provide mentoring and leading proactive initiatives for theDivisions.As a key member of the Operational HR Team, youwill support our clinical and operational managers in achieving their workforceobjectives, offering expert advice and guidance on a range of HR topicsincluding employee relations, performance management and change management.We support our employees to achieve a balancebetween work and other priorities such as caring responsibilities, familycommitments, further learning and other interests.Please note, interviews are scheduled to take place on Thursday 19th December 2024.
Main duties of the job To leada team on the management of employee relations cases and generalist HR advicein an effective and consistent manner in line with Trust policies andprocedures.Toanalyse HR data to identify trends and support your decision making, influencing andnegotiating skills.Workingclosely with and supporting the HR Business Partners, the post holder willprovide highly specialised advice, HR training and support to managers withintheir assigned portfolio to ensure the implementation of the Trust's HR objectives and deputise at meetings for the HR Business Partner.ProvideHR advise to managers on a range of highly complex workforce issues includingTUPE, organisational change, role redesign, policy and practice.

Job description Job responsibilities Advice on theapplication of procedures for highly complex discipline, grievance, andconditions of service, management of sickness, capability, recruitment andselection of staff, equal opportunities and employment law, some issues maybecontentious, therefore the postholder will ensure adherence to best practice,Trust policies, procedures and employment legislation.
Encouraging a culture ofdelivery through empowering managers.To line manage a HRteam (HR Advisor/Officer), including appraisal, and supporting personaldevelopment.
To hold regularemployee relations case management review meetings with their divisional HRteam and have assurance that these are conducted and recorded in line withtrust policies and procedures.
Provide regular updates to the HR BusinessPartner regarding the progress of the management of employee relations cases.Regularly communicatehighly sensitive and complex information requiring the application ofnegotiating, tact and empathetic skills.The information could relate to the management of employee relationsmatters, sickness absence, ill health retirement etc.
To create, input andstore confidential/sensitive data relating to employee relations, ensuring thattrust policies and procedures are adhered to.
To be aware of alltrust support services and actively promote to support staff when involved inemployee relations matters supporting a Just and Learning Culture.
To extract, manipulateand interpret information from the Electronic Staff Records system.
Regularrequirement to undertake analysis of workforce information and compile reportsfor the HRBP and Divisional Management Teams on HR activity, highlight and addressany areas of concern in addition compile service specific reports withrecommendations as advised and attend agreed divisional management meetings.
To present complexmanagement cases at final stage management hearings, answering difficultquestions which may be posed by staff, union representatives and the panel and justifyingthe decisions that you have made throughout the process.
These meetings may be contentious and requiretact and diplomacy skills.Supporting managers asan investigatory team, taking part in meetings, formal hearings and producingnotes and reports.
Ensuring this is compliant with law, policy and goodpracticeTo sit on hearingpanels for all staff.Planning and organising a number of complex HRprojects multiple employee relations cases and organisational change.
Where there is a need toallocate and re-allocate tasks to the HR teamToassist in the preparation of documentation and related tasks required in thedefence of any employment claims received by the Trust, including attendance atEmployment Tribunals.Wherenecessary, linking with external authorities/organisations to ensure that allsafeguarding matters in relation to children and vulnerable adults are properlydealt with, liaison with Police, Social Services and Professional CouncilBodies.To work closely withthe Trusts in-house Recruitment Team ensuring the delivery of a seamless, highquality and responsive service that meets divisional needsIn conjunction withline managers, to complete stress risk assessments, temporary injury allowanceassessments and ill health retirement applications when necessary.
To liaiseeffectively with the trust Pensions Team in order to complete the necessary paperwork.Proactively assist andcoach managers/HR team to continuously improve their practices in line with NHSpeople strategies, NHS People Plan and Trust values and behaviours.To be activelyinvolved in ensuring the standardisation of HR practices, policies andprocedures across the Trust, with regards to the management of employeerelations matters.To benchmark practiceand policy against other local NHS and non NHS organisations and to makerecommendations for improvementUndertake any otherduties commensurate with the job grade Person Specification Personal Attributes Essential Self motivated Sensitivity and empathy.
