The successful candidate will be part of the Engineering and Facilities team and will be responsible for maintaining availability for customers, ensuring maintenance and operation of technical infrastructure, and the upkeep and operation of the DC facility.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will:
Safety:
Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.
Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance:
Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's)Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance Physical Requirements:
Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required. Ability to work shifts (morning, late and night). On-call rotation reaction to off-duty emergency calls.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in a critical operations environment
- Broad operational knowledge and experience with and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment
- Proficient with Change Management Systems (CMS) and Ticket Systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive Data Center engineering experience or Job-related experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline (to be amended based on country/region)
- Familiar with Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) control systems and data collection/trending.
