Container Transport Planner

Our client, a large shipping and logistics company based in Felixstowe, are actively seeking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner.

Key Responsibilities: * Planning the most efficient transport routes for containers, considering factors like cost, time, and capacity.
* Coordinating with shipping lines, carriers, and freight forwarders to ensure that containers are delivered on time.
* Scheduling pick-up and delivery times for containers.
* Monitoring the availability and allocation of containers, ensuring sufficient stock for planned shipments.
* Acting as a liaison between customers, drivers, port operators, and other logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
* Ensuring containers are properly labelled, and shipping details are accurate to avoid delays or legal issues.
* Addressing and resolving any transportation-related issues that may arise, such as delays, accidents, or route changes.
* Monitoring transportation costs, negotiating rates with carriers and seeking opportunities for cost savings.
