Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist who wants to help shape mental health care for women across different levels of security?
Join The Farndon Unit, a friendly, committed and long established Mental Health Service.
Working 37.5 hours a week, you will join an established multidisciplinary team, including 2 other psychiatrists, 2 associate specialists, nursing, OT, psychology and social work.
You will act as a Responsible Clinician for 18 inpatients across the level 2 rehab and acute wards.
You will need a CCT in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry or equivalent qualification and experience of working with and leading multidisciplinary teams.
You will be part of an environment that specialises in providing trauma informed and compassion focused care and that utilises positive behavioural support to empower and assist service users in their recovery.
Key Responsibilities: Management of complex cases.
Formulating care plans and treatments for individual needs of service users.
Guiding on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.

To be successful as an applicant you'll need: MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
Full GMC registration with licence to practice.
MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
To hold Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved clinician status.
Experience in General Adult settings and have experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
Experience of working within acute inpatient or community settings, ideally inpatient settings and have experience in risk assessment and risk management.

The Farndon Unit provides care for women with a range of mental health conditions.
You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team offering personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways, including a trauma specific pathway, for women with complex care needs.
The unit houses 47 beds across five wards catering for female patients with low secure care (Bolero and Cortland Wards), a high-dependency psychiatric rehabilitation unit (Aster Ward) and two acute wards (Ruby Frost and Darcy Ward).
