Job summary Were looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join ourteams within General Adult and Old age Psychiatry.The general adult role provides consultant-level leadershipand care within our Home Treatment Service for adults of working age, and theolder adults component will support older adults services through the DevonMemory Services and/or Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT).

Main duties of the job As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will lead the clinical management and treatment of patients within the General Adult Psychiatry Home Treatment Service and provide input to the Older People's Mental Health (OPMH) service.
You will perform regular patient assessments, collaborate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, and deliver expert psychiatric care to working age adults and older adults, supporting them in their recovery journeys.
Key responsibilities include weekly patient reviews, Memory clinic assessments, providing crisis intervention, and supporting HTTs to gatekeep admissions to inpatient units, enabling patients to receive care in the community wherever possible.
Additionally, youll supervise and guide junior medical staff, support training and education of HTTs, and engage in clinical governance initiatives.

Qualifications Essential Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
To hold Approved Clinician status at the point of taking up post.
Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.
Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
Desirable MRCPsych.
Other professional qualification (eg CBT, PSI, CAT ).
CCT in General Psychiatry.
Teaching and Supervision Essential Experience of teaching undergraduates and postgraduates.
Desirable Evidence of additional teaching skills.
Experience as a lecturer or supervisor.
Experience in Clinical Supervision.
