Job Description Role Title: Communications Designer Duration: 6 months Location: Telford, Hybrid BPSS is required for this role Role purpose / summary We are seeking a talented Designer to join our Communications Team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing visually compelling graphic design products, creating engaging films, and providing support for various events.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint is essential, as is a strong understanding of design layout and cinematography principles.
The designer will collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective communication of our brand's message across all platforms.
You will need to be able to work independently effectively manage a rapid and ever-changing pipeline of work.
Creativity, attention to detail, and a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills are a must.
For the design role, we'd be keen to see a portfolio or a showcase of work as part of the interview process too.
To work with and support the Internal Communications team who play a valued role in translating business strategy and organisational priorities into tangible communications deliverables, by developing and delivering high quality design work, and to work within the design team to deliver best-in-class digital and print media to enhance internal communication campaigns.

- Act as guardian and champion of the brand.
- Support the development of the design team through constructive feedback, peer reviews, collaborative working, and cross-training.
Deliverables: - Develop a range of digital media, complying with brand guidelines, to support and enhance the impact and reach of communications campaigns.
- Good all-round technical skills; have a strong understanding of different media file types.
Publication and management of content on the Intranet (Create and edit intranet pages in our bespoke CMS system) and other key channels.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite in a Windows based environment.
- Excellent typography skills and an eye for detail.
- Proficiency in the artworking of digital media plus brochures, banners, presentations, posters and other media.
- Design products including but not limited to digital and print media, video and audio, animation, illustration.
- Clear and authoritative design consultancy for stakeholders.
- Material support of any reasonable nature required to assist in the delivery of key business events delivered by the Communications team.
- Supporting and leading live streamed events with a confident grasp of using the technology required to do so.
- Explore the use of new technologies to deliver comms through exciting and modern ways.
Responsibilities: - Work with communications business partners, wider team and internal stakeholders, to understand business objectives, suggesting and developing the most appropriate media to meet those goals.
- Work collaboratively with fellow designers, actively seeking and offering constructive feedback.
- Comply with, and contribute to, the development of standard design processes within the team.
You may need to pass work to others and/or pick up work from others as priorities change.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest design industry trends, sharing experience, knowledge and new ideas with the rest of the team.
- Use design knowledge and experience to ensure the business goals can be achieved, clearly articulating design recommendations and choices.
- Ensure all work produced is compliant with the brand guidelines and within this scope deliver compelling, engaging and innovative designs that align to and push industry trends.
- Work within established processes in the team.
- Enhance processes within the team and seek to improve delivery time for routine tasks.
- Accurately estimate how much time is required for a piece of work and stay within this estimate.
Ensure timely recording of progress against tasks in work management tooling.
Ensure the Internal Communications team, and wider stakeholders, are well informed on the status of deliverables.
- Offer clear and authoritative design consultancy for stakeholders.
- Support continuous delivery by ensuring your work in progress can be transferred to another resource at any time, by ensuring it is saved onto the shared drive.
- Inform your line manager of concerns, risks and issues.
- Take appropriate care with hardware assets such as video and audio equipment.
- Adhere to all set principles and governance for our digital key channels.
