Commis Waiter/waitress Il Macellaio - The butcher's Theater, an iconic restaurant in which incredible Italian food, is looking for a Commis Waiter to join our team.
Commis Waiter will be largely responsible for mise en place, ensuring that restaurant has sufficient quantities of cutlery and crockery for service and making sure it is staged accordingly to entertain the guests.
Assist waiters and kitchen teams with the preparation and polishing of plates and cutlery for service, along with condiments and other service wear.
The nature of this role is fast paced, active and high pressured particularly during the busy service periods when your organisation and team work skills will be critical.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB A Commis Waiter responsible for back of house set up for the Restaurant and to assist waiters at table service.
Pick up the food from the kitchen, as well as all general equipment polishing and cleanliness.
is responsible for delivering the food from the kitchen to the floor staff.
MAIN TASKS OF JOB • Ensure all food is collected from hot pass immediately once ready.
• Ensure all condiments are accompanying the side orders, main courses and starters.
• Ensure all dirty plates are removed from the Restaurant as soon as they are cleared from the tables.. • Have a complete knowledge of the restaurant menu and table numbers, as well as being able to identify guests' position numbers at the table.
• Ensure that the Restaurant mise en place is always clean, polished and stored in the correct manner to avoid any breakage.
• Ensure that the back of house is clean/clear at all times.
• Allergens knowledge • Act as the contact point between Front and Back of the House staff • Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests • Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins • Remove dirty dishes and utensils
