Commercial Manager (Subcontractor Partnerships)

Job Description As the Commercial Manager (Subcontractor Partnerships), you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong relationships with our network of subcontractors.
Your focus will be on ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our projects by optimising subcontractor performance, managing risk, and promoting compliance with our quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities: Subcontractor Partnerships: Undertake contractor screening checks as part of the onboarding process, including background checks on risk and safety history.
    Develop and maintain strategic relationships with a network of high-quality subcontractors.
Conduct thorough due diligence and risk assessments on potential subcontractors.
Negotiate and manage subcontractor contracts, ensuring favourable terms and conditions.
Monitor subcontractor performance and provide timely feedback and support.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with subcontractor relationships.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company's interests.
Oversee the implementation of safety and quality standards by subcontractors.
Compliance: Ensure subcontractors adhere to all relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance.
Provide guidance and support to subcontractors on compliance matters.
Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of subcontractor information, contracts, and performance data.
Utilise data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a subcontractor management role.
Proven track record of successful project delivery.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of contract law and construction industry best practices.
Additional Skills: Proficiency in contract management software and project management tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
