We support artistic projects with funding and provide a digital platform for artists to share their work with a wider audience.
The two strands of our activity – grant funding and Continuo Connect (CC) – combine to build a financially sustainable and artistically vibrant future for the UK historical performance sector.
Continuo Foundation also benefits from the generosity of its donors, patrons, panel members and trustees.
The digital platform launched in 2023 to help musicians publicise their concerts to wider, more diverse audiences and to improve access to live period music across the UK.
CC has the most comprehensive early music events listing in the UK, making it easy to find information about high quality concerts and festivals, including those in grassroots venues which were previously difficult to find.
CC is a dynamic, content-rich discovery tool with the aim of growing audiences for early music by providing not only concert listings, but also a festivals guide, artist profiles, interviews, videos, playlists and other editorial content.
We also produce a twice-monthly newsletter via Substack and engage in social media marketing on behalf of the artists and festivals with profiles on CC.
For artists and festivals, CC provides a free of charge platform, for sharing their concerts and research.
This is particularly valuable for smaller ensembles and emerging artists.
Many of these artists have been discovered and booked by concert organisers after being spotted on CC.
