Job summary Local Care Direct is a non-profit Social Enterprise operating across 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to provide various primary and urgent health care services across West Yorkshire.We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Clinical Support Worker to join our team at St Georges Urgent Treatment Centre, working an average of 12 hours per week.Hourly Rate: £ to £ per hour depending on qualifications and experience + 30% uplift for working out of hours(In Hours = Monday to Friday to & Out of Hours = Monday to Friday to and all day Saturday Sunday)Location: Local Care Direct, St Georges Urgent Treatment Centre, St Georges Road, Middleton, Leeds, LS10 4UZShift pattern available (Working across a 4 week rolling rota - average of 12 hours per week):Tuesdayweek 2 Thursday week 1 Saturday weeks 1&4 Main duties of the job The Clinical Support Worker is a key part of the health care team at St Georges Urgent Treatment Centre providing high quality and forward thinking care to meet the holistic health care needs of the practice population.They will work to agreed practice standards and protocols under the direct supervision of the nurse practitioners and are accountable to the Lead Clinician for their actions in undertaking delegated work.
This is guided by standard procedures and requires a degree of initiative.The will also provide support for other members of the Urgent Treatment Centre team.

This job has been rated as Medium Risk for requiring Hepatitis B immunisation vaccination is recommended, therefore Post Holders will be offered a Hep B immunisation.
Flu jab recommended and will be offered.JOB SUMMARYTo be part of the health care team providing high quality and forward thinking nursing care to meet the holistic health care needs of the practice population.
To work to agreed practice standards and protocols.Duties and Responsibilities:The clinical support worker works under the direct supervision of the nurse practitioners and is accountable to the Clinical Lead for their actions in undertaking delegated work.
This is guided by standard procedures and requires a degree of initiative.
The clinical support worker also provides support for other members of the Urgent Treatment Centre team.Undertakes agreed procedures to include: wound care, including wound closure application of plaster of Paris casts to limb injuries and general dressing and bandaging of minor injuries, 12 lead ECG placement.
Supporting patients who are anxious and or distressed.
Assists patients and where appropriate encourages self care and self management of injuries through health education.
Refers to other members of the health care team as appropriate.
Works within all relevant practice policies and procedures health and safety at work.
Responsible for order and regulation of clinical supplies and upkeep of equipment within the department Actively contributes and promotes high standards for infection control in the clinical area.
Contributes in the creation of confidential electronic patient records.Health promotionEncourages and supports individuals, families and groups to address issues which affect their health and social well-being.
Represents the interests of individuals and families when they are not able to do so themselves.
Develops and maintains the health promotion material within the unit including displays for the waiting room.Manage and leadContributes to the development, monitoring and evaluation of care delivered by the health care team.
Promotes effective communication and relationships within the team.
Works collaboratively as a team member to achieve the objectives of the Urgent care contract and aspirations of the team.
Partakes in clinical supervision for own development.
Actively participates in Team meetings.
Develops own knowledge and practice to meet objectives/changes in service.Manage and use informationMakes effective use of the IT system by ensuring the consistent and accurate entering of data and use of Read codes.
Makes recommendations to raise standards of practice and service delivery.

The job holder will be expected to participate in this process and the company would aim to reach agreement to changes Person Specification Qualifications Essential National Vocational Qualification level 3 for Health Care Workers or willing to work towards this qualification.
Willing to undergo education and / or training for both practice and service needs.
Willing to work towards professional and performance objectives.
Knowledge & Skills Essential Demonstrates an understanding of the role of the Clinical Support Worker.
Able to communicate routine information that requires tact and persuasive skills, or where there may be barriers to understanding.
Able to organise own time and workload, and cope with occasional last-minute changes.
Standard keyboard skills/computer literacy.
Desirable Willing to develop clinical skills and competencies relevant to the role.
Able to make judgements where there is more than a straightforward choice of options, options for treatment for wound care (Training will be given as needed) Experience Desirable Previous experience working in a Clinical Support Worker role.
