Job summary Would you like to work in Children's Services providing high quality, efficient and effective administrative support to the nursing and medical teams caring for children and young people presenting to the Emergency Department?We are looking to appoint a Children's Service Administrator to support the department by providing a range of administrative duties.
You will be supported by a newly appointed Children's ED Co-ordinator and will have the opportunity to develop in other areas as well as undertaking additional qualifications relevant to the role through the Apprenticeship Tarriff - Level 3,4 or 5 Business Administration Main duties of the job This role will include scanning, photocopying, receiving telephones calls, managing generic mailboxes and reviewing information in relation to Children's Safeguarding.Preparing agenda's and documents for the safeguarding meetings.You will also ensure children and families are welcomed to the department, provide wait times.Monitor breech dataSupporting the Matron, Senior Sister and Practice EducatorEnsure the environment is safe, clean and child friendly.

****** Person Specification Qualifications Essential oGCSE or Function Skills Level 2 in English and Maths oA Levels or Level 3 qualification Desirable oBusiness Administration qualification oLevel 2 Children's Safeguarding Experience Essential oExperience required in a similar administrative role within an NHS setting oExperience of maintaining databases, preparing agendas and taking notes at meetings Desirable oPrevious experience of working in an Emergency Department oExperience of working with senior level staff and in managing confidential issues oExperience of working in Children's Services oExperience of electronic patient systems oExperience in Children's Safeguarding matters Knowledge and Skills Essential Must be able to demonstrate, in relation to patients, visitors, colleagues and other individuals connected with the Trust and NHS: oYou have knowledge & awareness of diversity and human rights as appropriate to your role oYou are able to communicate effectively to ensure high standards of care, treatment, service or support as appropriate to your role oAble to provide a customer focussed service oDemonstrates commitment to a professional and high level service; a professional attitude to own work and the needs of others oAble to act with minimal guidelines and set targets and standards for self within the parameters of the role oAble to manage and prioritise all incoming and outgoing correspondence, initiating responses where appropriate oAble to develop and apply creative solutions to problems oAble to demonstrate that you are honest, reliable and trustworthy oTreat patients, visitors, colleagues with respect oAbility to travel between Trust sites oAbility to be flexible to meet the needs of the team, the service and the Trust
