Chemistry Technician

Dyson Perrins Building, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QY About the roleThe School of Archaeology is looking to recruit a Chemistry Technician to join our small and friendly team in the School of Archaeology, Research Laboratory for Archaeology - Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit (ORAU), based in the centre of Oxford.
The lab provides about 2,000 radiocarbon dates each year for our own research and for collaborators across archaeological, environmental and forensic sciences.
This post is a fixed-term contract until 30 November 2025.
It is a full-time position.
About youYou will be educated to A level or an equivalent technical education, you will have experience and good practical skills of working in a chemical or biological laboratory, the ability to communicate effectively including the ability to write up experimental results and the ability to troubleshoot problems with experiments and arrive at an appropriate solution.
You will also have excellent organisational skills and good attention to detail.
You should have a flexible, collaborative, and proactive attitude to work.
